I booked tickets for Interpol in Dublin on Dec 1st just this Tuesday. Had a choice of 3 nights but plumped for the last one only to discover to my horror yesterday that Belle & Sebastian are playing Belfast on the exact same date. I totally freaked....my 2 favourite still functioning bands both playing here on the same date...what are the chances....

For God sake! Colston Hall won't accept my card, Birmingham Symphony Hall aren't accepting Maestro on their website. I might as well go down and get the tickets myself.

I guess that would have been a possibility but i really fancied the last night on the 1st because theres an official afterparty that night for an extra tenner.
Ive come up with a better solution ......gonna get tickets (hopefully) for B&S in Dublin on Dec 3rd. Unfortunately thats gonna mean 3 days staying (drinking) in Dublin.....what a shame Wink

Well i have now tried the caravan park holiday in a run down British seaside resort and i couldnt get back quick enough, 2 nights was plenty enough.

The Jam tribute band in the social club last night were pretty good though.

Does anyone use goodreads.com ?? Have been looking at it for a few weeks and a guy I know finally convinced me to join today. I do read quite a lot and it's a good place to interact with like minded people and just generally keep a tabs on what you are reading and what you have already read through virtual bookshelves etc, reviewing the books...getting recommendations from people you trust. You can also join book clubs or groups, and there is a baseball book group on there with only a handful of members but it was only formed recently. Only been on it around 6-7 hours now, but already really liking it. Just wondered if anyone had come across it, or use it?

That look quite interesting, Cubbie. I might have to make an account.

I was talking to my girlfriend today and I was trying to explain to her why Edinburgh is so much better than Glasgow and she said she'd never heard of Glasgow! Admittedly she's not from the UK, but it was kinda worrying and amusing at the same time Laughing
